(August 3rd, 2007))(
Objective one- infiltrate base. Check. Objective two- unpack stuff. Check. Objective three- can the angst. Check. Objective four- find the 'potential hazards'. Yeah, this turn of events in his life wasn't absurd at all.
William wasn't sure how he felt about it anymore. Basely, he felt nothing at all. It was like he had become completely numb to the whole thing. There had been so many questions that had cropped up during his last month of existence, and all of it seemed so tremendously foreign that his mind didn't really know what to make of it.
It was hard to stay grounded. He kept telling himself that he was the same William Abernathy he had come to know (with all the variations included, of course), but every attempt to run over his life to that point for some sense of balance resulted in him running into the same brick wall. He wanted to tell himself that he was Will Abernathy, lead singer and life blood of the Seven Deadly Virtues, soon to be famous rock star.
Unfortunately, he wasn't. Not anymore. Maybe he never had been.
That had been taken away from him, and he didn't really feel like he was allowed to be that anymore. Sure, he had always been a lover of change, never the one to settle. Yet...music. That had been his one thing, the thing that he thought he could live with. The thing he could devote his life too. Now he couldn't have that, and he didn't know what to do.
Follow his mother's lead, apparently. He had arrived at some great point of limbo in his life. He had been trapped in that place- the Subacquei, or whatever they called it -for a good month now. Now he'd been sent here to this school, apparently to continue some long lived trend of infecting the place with Death Eaterism from the inside.
Funny thing. He couldn't really tell which he had liked better, when his mom was a dead crack whore or when she was a living dark lord. Blah...blah! He wasn't going to dwell on it at the moment. Now that he had been sucked into this whole training to be the next big bad ordeal, he decided that he may as well play along for the time being.
He was good at playing. Oh yes, he was. Which was perfect for his first order of business. Apparently he had family here. Interesting family. As well as a few other obstacles.
Obstacle number one appeared rather soon after his arrival at the school.
William recognized him from both the pictures and the descriptions. It wasn't exactly what he had been looking for, he had been looking for his cousins, but if the information he had been given was correct, this one would have a fair idea of where to find at least one of his queries. Perfect.
As convenience would have it, they were alone in the common room. William had stumbled in by a happy accident, and the other man hadn't even heard his entry as he was apparently preoccupied with playing around on a piano. For a moment, something within the former American twanged. He really wanted to play that.
He approached silently, stopping momentarily as the other ceased their playing, sighing in frustration as they gripped their right arm which appeared to be wearing a brace of some sort. Oh right, well, that fit perfectly. William had been told all about that. The man at the piano paused for another minute or two, carefully flexing the muscles of his arm and grumbling under his breath before starting from where he'd left off.
With that, Will slipped up behind him, before boldly announcing, "That's the wrong chord."
The next thing he knew there was a wand in his face.
The brunette in front of him has simple snapped around the very moment he had begun to speak, wand ready in his left hand with alarming speed. William backed off, but otherwise remained calm. This had been sort of expected, hadn't it? Though he could have sworn that he was doing the sneaking up there...
"What?" the Scot asked firmly, green eyes observing the new comer carefully. They betrayed a sense of extreme paranoia- the man didn't even know who he was yet he suspected the worst.
"Dominic Constantine, right?" Will asked, making a face at him as if to say 'God, you people are nuts.' Dominic snorted, but didn't lower his wand.
"Sure. Who are you?"
"Someone worth pointing a wand at, obviously," Will replied, cocky without good reason. This Dominic didn't need to know that, though.
"Yeah, well, I wouldn't suggest stalking people here. It's kind of a social faux paus."
"What makes you think I was 'stalking' you?"
"I noticed you were standing there an awfully long time."
"Oh yeah, sure."
"Anyway," the Constantine cut in. "You never answered me. Who are you?"
"Will Abernathy," he answered with a smirk. "I'm new here."
"Obviously."
"And I wanted to ask you something."
"What?"
"Do you..." Naw, he was going to screw around a bit more, "...have a stick up your ass or what because man you are really tense." He really was. Ever since he had shown he was aware of his presence, Dominic's body had gone nearly rigid, as if he were expecting something horrific to happen any minute.
Now he was just glaring at him.
"But seriously, I hear you are dating Renée LaFayé or something. Know where I could find her?"
Somehow, William got the impression that wasn't the sort of question that Dominic wanted to hear.

They'd been told they could stay at the school, right? Then why, pray do tell, was someone staring at her like she had no right to be there? Heck, it'd been a school-wide invitiation, and yet, her half-sister just wanted to glare her down. They'd been sitting like that for the past forty or so minutes - the Allen glancing up from her book every so often, only to see that no, the older blonde hadn't yet looked away.
It was rather unnerving, having someone stare straight at you all the time.
Brown eyes skimmed the fifth page of the book, realizing she hadn't been able to finish it yet. Generally, she would've been almost done that thing. At the moment, though? Completely and totally distracted. What was this? Had she done something? Had Renée decided it was her time to die after all? Because she wasn't really all that ready to kick the bucket. Unfinished business and such.
Sighing, she finally put her book down, and returned the pregnant woman's staring, though hers lacked any purpose beyond trying to make the other talk to her. After a moment, she waved an arm around, noting that no, the LaFayé hadn't just spaced out as her eyes followed the movement. "Umm... this is awkward. Do you need something?"
"Are you fucking daft?" Okay, that she had not expected to hear.
The younger of the pair squirmed for a moment, looking thoughtful as she tried to come up with the appropriate answer to that. No sounded like it might get her slapped. Yes would probably get her killed (not to mention be horribly degrading). Oh come on. She had bigger fish to fry than this! Honestly! "Uh... no?"
"Funny, because I could've sworn I told you every Death Eater out there knows your face and was told to kill you. Remember that conversation? You were naked, I was somewhat amused," the taller Frenchwoman offered, motioning vaguely with one hand as if calling back some distant memory. "So. Explain to me this. Why the fuck haven't you done anything about it yet?"
Oooh yeah. That thing. That'd been a month ago, hadn't it? Crap. "Well, what do you expect me to do? Change my name and flee the country? I'm pretty sure Papa could find me no matter what I did," she pointed out, grabbing for her book again only to be stopped by someone's hand on her wrist.
Ren rubbed her temples, vaguely wondering what she'd ever done to deserve a sibling with such severe mental handicaps. "Okay, listen to me and listen to me good. Did I sad anything about you changing your name? No. Did I mention moving away? No. The smartest thing to do starts with you staying here. That's why I didn't do anything about your lack of taking step two for a month."
"There's a step two?"
"Yes. There is a step two. Observe." Pregnant or not, the ex-Death Eater still apparently carried some amount of strength. A twist of her arm had Lisa on her feet and whining as the limb was twisted behind her back, apparently two seconds away from breaking at the shoulder. "Note that I could shatter this arm right now, if I really wanted to. Note that you were helpless to stop that. Note that our father could do worse. Now. What conclusion do you come to?"
Wincing, the smaller blonde turned back to stare at her sister just slightly, feeling the other's grip tighten as she did so. "Ah... that I should, ow stop, get some training in?" Oh, she'd played this game before. And, apparently, the answer satisfied, since she was released.
Rubbing her wrist where it'd been held so tightly before, she shot a hurt look in her half-sister's direction. "Good. Get your ass out of here now and follow me. We're going elsewhere to find someone to help me teach you this."
"What?" Smack. The sound of flesh on skin sounded throughout the place as the ex-prefect's hand met cheek. "Ow, ow! Okay! Okay, we're going! We're moving!"
And indeed they were, though after fifteen minutes of walking around, the Allen could've sworn they weren't getting anywhere. Just as she was about to comment, she walked directly into the back of her half-sister, who had stiffened considerably as they passed by the common lounge.
Wordlessly gripping the younger woman's wrist (and inducing a wince that was half fear, half expecting pain), she pulled them both forward into the area.
Oh shit. Dominic was there! And some other guy. Dominic, Renée... both scary enough, and then some third person randomly added into this mixture of 'omg'. Had the option presented itself, the platinum blonde would've gotten herself out of there.
"If you'd bother turning around, you might see her," the older of the pair drawled as she caught onto the tail end of this other fellow's question. Her boyfriend didn't seem to enjoy him much. She wasn't inclined to either.
And yes, Dolly was coming along for this ride. Though she looked mopey about it.

Dominic looked quite prepared to spit back something utterly venom in his direction before the woman in question interrupted. William was a touch phased for a moment, but only because he found it hard to believe that life could be that convenient. It quickly passed, however, and he just became interested in pursuing the task at hand.
"Are you feeling a bit more relaxed now?" he quipped back at Dominic, whose posture had loosened at her arrival. The Scot said nothing, but William imagined that he didn't really have too. He knew how it worked with them. It was no small wonder that he would feel uncomfortable without her around to save him.
Giving him a rather facetious wink, Will turned away from the other male, ignoring the fact that there was still a wand being pointed at his back. It was a touch unnerving, but nothing more. He didn't want to start this encounter on the defensive.
"Ren and Lisa?" he asked them casually, grinning covertly as he approached the two women. Ren looked about the same way in real life that he had imagined from the images. Very pregnant, sounded none too kind. It didn't really matter though. They were supposed to be his enemies. Well, that was what he had been told anyway.
He hadn't quite decided yet.
"Well, this is cool. We finally get to meet." He quirked an eyebrow at them. Lisa wasn't overly surprising either. She looked about as nervous as would have made sense, but he found it very hard to believe that she had ever been living through what he was now. She didn't seem built for it. Which was probably why she failed.
"Will Abernathy, I've heard a lot about you," he introduced himself putting out his hand in a comradely fashion. So, these were his cousins, and effectively who he was replacing. It was basically a matter of learning how to beat them.
It was amusing, because it was very unlikely that they had ever heard of him. Being the one of the Death Eater's side had advantages apparently.

Of course life was that convenient. Helping the one guy who was probably under orders to kill you off someday and generally screwing you over. Note that it was far from a matter of convenience for everybody involved. Particularly the Allen, who looked increasingly uncomfortable as time went on. She had yet to manage to regain the free use of her hand, which meant simply leaving was pretty much out of the question. Also, that was her wand arm being held there, crossed in front of her and pretty useless.
Duel? Yeah, she'd learned how to, effectively. Though she'd promised herself she'd reprogram how her mind worked in those situations. Especially after what had happened to Jacques. Third's lessons had been for nought after all, and she couldn't say she regretted it in the slightest. Turning into someone who wouldn't even bat an eye as they cast those sorts of spells? That wasn't a person she wanted to be.
Her half-sister seemed stoic at best right about then, brown eyes staring down this new male before quirking an eyebrow in Dominic's direction as if to ask 'who the hell is this?'. She wasn't a people person. In fact, she pretty much hated everybody. This guy with his cocky attitude and general manner of speaking wasn't much of an exception save for one area.
She glanced once again to him, wary of his presence as she took a couple of steps forward, head tilting to one side as Lisa was jerked along for the ride. "How do you know our names and why are you looking for us?"
The shorter blonde's mouth turned into a small 'o', as she'd apparently not been too concerned about that detail before that point in time. Nonetheless, her right hand darted out underneath her trapped left arm to shake this Will's outstretched hand as he introduced himself. "Lisa Al - ACK!"
Renée would have made some snappish comment, had a firm jerk of the younger Frenchwoman's limb apparently not done the trick. "He already knows, Dolly. But at any rate... finally getting to meet? Elaborate, Will."

Geez, running into all of these ethnic accents made him feel very much out of place, just another reminder of where he was. Europe. Hah. His New Yorker accent sounded about as out of place as a vicious German one in America. Yet...he had been born here, hadn't he? He was technically a native to the United Kingdom.
Yet it just didn't feel that way. New York had been his home. This sort of felt like he had accidentally travelled to some alternate dimension where he had some outrageous destiny that he had never heard of before that point. Which was exactly what it was, in retrospect. Only it wasn't an alternate universe. It was Europe.
None the less, he had gone along with shaking Lisa's hand until she abruptly was jerked away, acting with a calm demeanour that may have implied that he was completely oblivious to the tension in the room. Behind him, Dominic was giving Ren a very simple shrug of the shoulders and raising of the hand to imply that no, he had absolutely no idea who this guy was. The Scot was apparently just as puzzled as she was.
"Really good to meet you," he said to the younger half-sibling, before staring nonchalantly at Ren as she questioned him. Hah...he'd totally managed to catch them off guard by knowing these things. It was kind of great, if only for hilarity's sake. Though he would probably have to straighten up and explain now.
After all, there were wands being pointed, regardless of how indifferent he was to the possible danger.
"I know your names..." he said, trailing off for dramatic purposes. He continued to grin at them for a few more moments before deciding to finish. "Because we're related. I'm your cousin. Surprise." He crossed his arms, looking at them thoughtfully.
"And I guess I like to know about my family," he added, after a moment. In the background Dominic was looking rather alarmed. Blinking a few times, he raised his wand again, looking to Renée hesitantly before beginning to gesture in confusion.
He pointed to his wand, and then made a slashing motion across his throat before shrugging. It gave a very obviously message:

He thought he was dealing with ethnic accents galore right now? He'd had, what? British parental unit, and now two Frenchwomen and a Scot. Yeah. Really diverse. Not. He was going to be so overwhelmed at Anima Eterna if this was setting off the little lights in his head that it wasn't even funny. Besides, there had to have been points in time when they'd all felt like that. Save maybe the Italians, since this was their home country - even so, they got a lot of people from around the world coming in.
Case in point - American. Well, his accent hinted as much, anyway. Renée, really, couldn't have cared less. Granted, the last American she'd met had eyed her like a piece of meat and taken to calling her Barbie (then insulted her for not commenting on his accent, as if it made a difference), so she wasn't so inclined to like the batch.
Her half-sister didn't seem to mind either way. But she lacked the malicious drive to have any reservations when it came to race. She was, however, far more wary of the situation now than she had been before. Duly noted.
"Oh, that is bullshit," the taller blonde decided after a moment, brown eyes narrowing at him as she glanced behind to see Dominic offering to kill him. She might have shrugged, had she not wanted to know the real reason behind him knowing their names. "Who's kid are you then, hm? Because nobody said a word about you before."
"Umm, Renée? I think... I think I'd like to go now..."
"Oh, for the love of - Dolly. Shut up, stand there, look dense. You're good at that. Just keep on," she ordered stiffly, finally managing to motion a 'no' to her boyfriend with a small shake of her head, though she drew her own wand with her usual hand, pointing it nonchalantly in Will's direction.
The ex-Death Eater found herself immensely displeased about this on so many levels. There was the possibility he wasn't lying - which meant she became a bit more expendable. That didn't sound so appeasing when you actually thought the words. Because, to put it bluntly, she didn't need to get her head on the kill list like her sister had. She'd been lying low (save the attempted murder of her father, though he had started that one) for the most-part, and she expected to be treated as a free person whilst being so kind as to not stir the pot.
So they send in this? "You're obviously an American. Note that our family is entirely French and British. If you're related to us, care to explain the connection in full?"
"I really think it's high time I left to get back to that book I was reading earlier..."
"It's a piece of trash, and they have a happy ending. There. Now you don't have to." Jabbing her wand nonchalantly in the youngest boy's direction, she quirked an eyebrow. "Well? I'm accusing you of being a liar. Prove me wrong somehow." No questions, just demands. That was generally how it went down, after all.
He wasn't getting any special treatment either way here.

Well, he had been around school a bit and already given the break down. Not to mention all the time he spent in the Subacquei. There were definitely all kinds around this part of Italy, but at least it gave him a crash course in European flare. It was no America, but at least it was interesting.
It was kind of funny how part of this whole destiny thing required him to fight, lead, train or whatever to rule a continent which he was almost completely unfamiliar with. Kind of bizarre. One would ask 'so why am I supposed to care about this?'
But he got the impression that it was a 'first Europe, and then the world!' scheme. That was ignoring the fact that he may have been able to spot a chance for some serious power regardless of his other motivations. Most people wanted power, didn't they? It was hardly a strange attraction.
And oh, it was so much more useful than money.
"Oh yeah, total bullshit," Will replied facetiously before listening to her other demands. Very demanding, wasn't she? "Ah, well, how surprised are you, really? If I've got this right you two didn't even know who your dad was until just a while ago. Man, we could have other siblings and be the last ones to know about it."
Lisa's reaction was someone disappointing. Knowing who he was apparently hadn't done anything for her liking of him. Before she had been so comparatively polite, too. If she thought he was going to make a move for her she was surely mistaken.
Dominic sighed in response to Renée's gesture, before settling in for the long haul with his wand, taking to watching the discussion. He didn't put his wand away, though, that was for sure. Though Ren seemed to be assisting with that now.
"Your aunt is my mum," he said simply, tilting his head at her in mild amusement. "Irish daddy Death Eater apparently made babies with her at some point. I got to hang in New York until they thought it was convenient to bring me here. Since apparently some people aren't doing their jobs."
"I can't really prove myself right aside from the fact that we look really similar, I guess," he shrugged. "Oh maybe with the fact that I've got these guys at my disposal...I could give you a test run if you'd like."
Cockiness. It really fit this new dark lord persona.

She definitely suspected him. They had a lot more things to worry about than they'd thought if he was related to them, as he said. It was for the best that Lisa stayed, even if she didn't realize it yet. Knowing the most about somebody who would, quite possibly, try to stab you in the back and have you killed was for the best. And besides, she needed this first encounter to be good for herself. She needed to make him want to have her alive, around.
She needed to, as much as the LaFayé shuddered while thinking this, be her usual self. Smile, care without even knowing him, the whole enchilada. Instead she became all squirrelly and made it seem like she already hated him. The fuck.
Squeezing the shorter blonde's wrist in warning, she heard her gasp. See, now, this was why they were having problems in the first place. Because this girl could not grasp the concept of how to save her own ass. Ah, fuck. Well, maybe if she treated William semi-decent, the Allen would follow her lead? Take the hint sort of thing.
"Umm, actually, I always knew who my father wa - " she stopped as her wrist was nearly crushed, looking to Renée before whispering, "Ow."
"That's not how he means we knew him," the older Frenchwoman pointed out before looking back to their supposed cousin rather critically, sighing and shaking her head. "Lovely. So there's more now. I suppose you're here to kill Dolly?"
"EEK!"
"Quiet Dolly. And no, the test run won't be necessary," the LaFayé, a touch disgruntled though nonetheless conceding, stated simply, looking at this Will a bit closer. Well, if he planned on outrightly killing the ex-Head Girl, she'd given him the opportunity to say so. He didn't seem the type to be hiding his motives, and hopefully if he denied this claim, Allen could calm the fuck down.
Then again, she doubted that kid's heart was ever going to stop racing. Hell, she was probably two beats a minute away from a heart attack. Ah well. At least that wasn't murder. Technically, anyway.

Well, that theory would have worked provided the Allen appeared to be listening to anything that was going on, aside from just blindly trying to steal away. Oh yeah, she was definitely not happy to hear who he was. Though, he knew that she was supposed to be dead at this point, so he guessed he couldn't blame her.
He, however, hadn't been told to do that. Not yet, anyway. So until he was told by one of the Heirs that he was supposed to off his cousin there was no point in doing so. He had reasons to wand her around, anyway. He wanted to learn from her, learn about what she had done when presented with the same situation he was no experiencing.
Not necessarily so he could follow her path, but perhaps so he would know what not to do. Or maybe it would just give him a better idea of what her father was like. Since he had arrived he had been given the opportunity to meet the man, but it had been brief an inconclusive. Third had alluded to the fact that he was still caught up in his own plans.
His own plans meaning his two daughters.
"Relax, Lisa," he commented lightly in response to the suggestion that he was there to kill her. "That's not really my gig at the moment, okay? I just wanted to meet the two of you, no death involved. Up to this point I didn't even know I had extended family."
Though there was inevitably going to be a gap between them, what with him being a Death Eater and them being abandoners. He could play around that, though. For now he had really no specific requirement for his relationship with them. It all depended how this meeting went.
As it stood, there were still wands being pointed at him.
"You two not a big fan of family? Ah well..." He shrugged with an amused look on his face. "Guess I can't blame ya. We come from a strange neck of the woods. So." He looked to them a bit more seriously, straying out of the pissing around area and into something actually serious.
"So why did you guys turn this whole dark lord thing down anyway? From the looks of it the perks are great."

Well, now, see? This wasn't so bad. He didn't want her dead. Granted, his reasoning behind it may not have been the most noble, and it was still iffy, what he might do if his mother or uncle asked him to take care of that loose end. Suddenly, her half-sister being dead didn't seem half as appealing. She needed her around for things. Things that involved pissing off their father, and probably putting a little wedge in his plans.
Having Will around was an unexpected and rather new difficulty. And whatever was on the younger girl's mind, it still wasn't that eased. She squirmed, finally getting her wrist free, though made no move to leave. Holy crap, that kid must've bruised easily. Renée was a touch surprised to see how purple and blue the skin she'd been hanging onto had turned, and the former Head Girl herself seemed somewhat shocked, raising the arm to look at it, then glancing at her half-sister skittishly.
Oh, she was so close to running away. The next move anybody made towards her, and she'd be out of there so fast. Probably best to leave her alone, for the time being. Before the little bunny rabbit died, preferably.
"Well... alright. Just... if it's not your gig now, can we try to keep it that way? Like, not have you want me dead in the future sort of thing?" she offered, looking a bit more at ease in the moment, though still rather uncomfortable on the whole. Oh, the older Frenchwoman could have just smacked her. Unfortunately, she'd already decided to keep her hands off.
Hmm... he hadn't known he'd had extended family, though. Well, now, this sounded rather familiar. She could live with knowing he'd been in the dark so long too. It meant they still had something. He was new - he wasn't a match for them in skill. Not yet. Well, okay. Maybe a match for Dolly, but only because she didn't fight back.
Lisa bowed her head and took to rubbing her sore wrist as he asked about family, shamed to silence for the moment. Her sister, on the other hand, had little issue replying. "No, I love my family," she stated simply. "Boyfriend and baby. Family's not always created by blood." She sent Dominic a short-lived glance, before turning her attention to Will. "You're not technically in my family, and neither's she." Thumb jerk to Miss Silence, who looked a cross between unsurprised and hurt nonetheless.
"I love my family," the shorter woman replied quietly, looking around anxiously. "It's just... I'm not exactly... I'm..."
"She's different and the vast majority of us want and/or need her dead. Either way, I turned down the dark lord bit because one, I don't really give a damn, and two, I couldn't stand the people currently in charge. She turned it down because her heart's not for that."

Well, they had something in common apparently. William had never really been one to give a damn about people he didn't know, and currently his two cousins were included in that. Blood was certainly not thicker than water in his opinion, because honestly he really disliked his father. The fact that his behaviour may have been some kind of elaborate ruse really didn't change that.
In response to Lisa's babbling, Will just let out a small, friendly laugh, before tilting his head at her in thought. "Well I have no real reason to want you dead, so..." But that comment only worked for the time being. No point in telling her it might change in the future, though. After all, he wanted her to be cooperative, much like his other cousin.
Wasn't this all rather big talk for someone who hadn't even killed before, though? Perhaps. Yet, somehow when he had heard that it would likely be a necessity at some point, it hadn't really bothered him that much. Maybe he was just deluding himself, but William Abernathy felt pretty secure with the idea of killing.
Who knew why. Maybe he had already accepted a long time ago that it was a dog eat dog world. He just hadn't been able to get away with it before without getting arrested.
This kind of freedom did strange things to a person.
Upon Renée's explanation of her family, William couldn't help but turn for a moment to look back at the man he knew was her boyfriend. Well, she definitely would have to love him to do the things she did. It couldn't have been a relationship of convenience because there was nothing convenient about it.
How positively tragic, though, they had barely met and already he knew two of her greatest, perhaps only, weaknesses. One was the one she had just pointed out (though he had already pieced that together, thanks) which was her 'family'. The other was that nasty fear of blood that Third had pointed out to him. She hardly knew who he was, and he already had her sized up.
That felt kind of good.
"Eh, suit yourself," he replied with a shrug. "Blood can be overrated, no doubt." But not as much when they were giving you a whole empire, note. Renée seemed like a strong person, and from dealing with her William already had an amount of respect for her ways. Her boyfriend, though? Not so much. He didn't really see the attraction there.
"Fair enough," he said with surprising casualness, considering the topic of conversation. So now he knew why they didn't like it. So far he had neither of those problems. Excellent, he already succeeded where the other two had failed. He was already on his way to victory.
He was kind of getting into this, wasn't he?
"Is that person in charge your father? I haven't really met him much yet. I don't really get him so far." He talked about it like it was average stuff at a regular family reunion. Never mind the fact that most of the people involved with this were mass murderers of some degree.

Well this was great. Aside from Lisa, they were officially in a room full of people who really didn't give a damn about whomsoever might walk into the place next. Unless it happened to be Morgan Donnelly, Chase Allen... you get the point. Known enemies. Well, known in two of their cases at any rate.
The good news was that Allen Junior's life didn't seem to be in any immediate jeopardy with Will here. Though somehow, it still wasn't overly comforting. He hadn't made any promises about the future, or anything like that. Just a simple 'not right now'. And, in Renée's experience, she'd known those to be followed up with a 'maybe later'. Did she trust this guy? No. Not in the slightest. Was she willing to believe he meant it when he said her half-sister wasn't in danger in that very moment? Yes. Because he had two very able wands pointed at him (albeit her new one still felt a mite strange), and he couldn't have won this round if he'd wanted to.
No, anybody's best bet of taking her out would've been in a more private setting, away from the school. Everybody knew that, of course. As it were, the shorter Frenchwoman seemed a touch comforted by his continued reassurance, and she gave a bob of her head before smiling a bit. Then there was that glance thrown towards Dominic that shot that all to hell, and she pretty much reverted to her previous anxiety-stricken state.
Though she didn't roll her eyes, the ex-Death Eater had to fight that urge every step of the way. Family situations. Had to love them.
Frankly, she didn't care if her new cousin had been able to spot the blatantly obvious here. Alright. She loved her boyfriend and unborn baby. Yes, yes. Anybody who wouldn't have been able to come to that conclusion all by their lonesome would've had to have been mentally challenged. And she could've essentially discredited him then and there if he was just coming to this conclusion, or felt he'd needed verbal confirmation.
There was no shame in stating the obvious when it came to matters like that.
As for the fear of blood - well, that hadn't been any of her own doing, and it hadn't been preventable. Though the LaFayé would've been pretty pissed off had she known her aunt and father had been keen on tossing that information around so lightly, she remained blissfully unaware of the fact that her cousin was in on that.
Not that it'd help him much. She'd never really seen anybody who knew willing to slice themselves just to make her vomit and slow down a touch.
"Blood's only overrated when its ours," she pointed out, frowning a bit as she considered her mother's family. Yeah, well, not that she'd spoken to them for a few years. Try maybe... five? Her mother hadn't been on amazing terms with them, and thus, neither had she.
Another question about their father? Brown eyes narrowed suspiciously as even Lisa shifted slightly, hinting that she wanted to get away from the topic before going back to nursing her bruised wrist. "I suppose that would be who I was referring to. I don't really know much about him. He was never a part of my life, and he never will be. I'm not the person to talk to about him."
And yet, the number one source for all things Chase would've been to her left. Marvellous. Hopefully he could keep from asking anymore questions for the time being. Though hey. She could use him to stir up some shit amongst the Heirs sometime. Awesome.
Talk about having a plan come unexpectedly flying into your face. Wicked.

Must just be that people like them were naturally more apathetic to things that didn't concern them. They probably had to be like that to do what they did. Having a few close ones was hard enough to handle in that kind of business, let along caring about every random person who happened to stroll by.
Altruistic? Definitely not. At least not in the personal sense. There very well may have been some of that 'for the greater good' mentality.
Well, how did she expect him to make guarantees about the future? Promising to never ever try to have someone made dead was a tall order, especially in the business he was getting into. Lisa was in a precarious position, and him not feeling the need to do anything about it at the moment was about as good as she could hope for.
Also, well, he was outnumbered, but he was hardly going for an aggressive stance here. He hadn't once considered to go for his wand, since there was no point in having a pissing contest when he was obviously less trained than them. That would come later, once he was stronger. For now he was just getting an idea of what they were like.
The concept of dealing with them in the future was strangely exciting.
And hey. Just because a weakness was really obvious didn't mean it was any less prevalent. No, he hadn't needed her to tell him that. After all, her own father was already trying to exploit (or, well, rid himself of) that little issue. Which left him to wonder what exactly he could do with it that his uncle hadn't already, but he would deal with that later.
Plenty of time to scheme.
"Ah, well that's kinda disappointing," he said with a small pout at her not being able to tell him anything about her own father. Lisa probably knew more about it, but it was doubtful that he would be able to get anything out of her at the moment. He'd have to talk to her more privately later, without the wand pointing peanut gallery.
"Oh well," he sighed with a shrug. "That's fine." He could always ask his mother some more questions about it as well, as much as he would have liked a second opinion. "Anyway." He looked down at his watch. "I think we're all caught up now, so I'm gunna go."
"Joy of joys," Dominic drawled in the background.
"I'll see you ladies later," Will added, ignoring the comment, as he pushed between them to make his way to the warps.
She wanted to use him as a pawn? She could try. She wasn't the only player in this game.
