Though Aderyn had been at Anima Eterna for a few days now, it took some time to get her things unpacked. It wasn't exactly an exciting chore, so she took frequent breaks to do a bit of exploration. However, she really did have to get her clothes and books unpacked. Classes wouldn't start any time soon, but she still wanted to cram in as much practice as she could, as she was already far behind her peers.
The youth's determination had taken her straight through supper, but as she lifted a pair of jeans from her trunk, her stomach grumbled in protest to the lack of food. Aderyn had tried to push it away; really, she had-- enough excuses. But soon, it became unbearable.
She heard there were kitchens in the lowest level of the school, and that the elves there were usually good about providing late night snacks. So she'd just pop down there really quickly, retrieve the food item, and come back to finish. She really wanted to finish tonight.
Sliding her wand into the back pocket of darkwash jeans, the half-Arab exited the common room, making her way towards the stairs. Really, it was quite a work out, moving from so many floors. But as long as she was just descending, it was easily navigable. It was kind of difficult to get lost on the stairs, after all.
Needless to say, Miss Tikhaa was surprised by the sudden darkness that engulfed her vision. Her first instinct as she took a step was to run her hand along the wall, though she immediately regretted it-- it felt so slimey. Maybe it was better that she couldn't see whatever she had just touched.
Not like she had a choice, though. As the brunette had no clue where she was going, she was pretty much stuck following the wall. Which was exactly what she did.
Now, at first, she wasn't worried. But when she turned corners again and again, her heart began to beat a little faster, and a small voice in the back of her mind tried to coax her into panic. No, no! She'd remain calm. Just--
Another corner, and she wished she had just remained in her dorm.
Her visibility was suddenly heightened, and her stomach lurched. Skeletons, real ones, were scattered all over the place. Some full bodies, others just fragments and chips. Blood stains coated the murkey-colored walls, and various chains pinned what were once humans to solid stone.
Before she even knew what she was doing, she let out a scream of horror, her hand instinctively flying to her mouth. People... real people had done this to one another. And, obviously, she was well aware that they still did, but... God, the sight of such gore sickened her.
She needed out.
